| ENTER | Confirmation. Execute. Begin a new line. OK. | Originally called Return, symbol still represents the motion of a carriage return on a type writer. |
| ESC | Escape. Get out. CANCEL. | Only Key with no neighbours. Usefulness overshadowed by undo. |
| TAB | Move to the next tab stop, column, or field. | Normally goes right but can go left by holding Shift and pressing tab. |
| SPACE | Add a space. Choose. Jump. | Largest Key on Keyboard. |
| MODIFIERS | These keys do little alone, but much when combined with the mouse or other keyboard keys. | Can be used individually or in combination to add more shortcuts. Command Key on a Mac and Start Key in Windows are also Modifiers. |
